Another hardy native North American grass, which spreads quickly and is a pro at stabilizing pond and stream banks controlling soil erosion. Gracefully arching green foliage cuts a fine figure (up to 7ft in height and width) in summer and then turns a bright gold in autumn. Yellow flowers bloom in July to September.
