Goji berry plant is grown for its red berries, which are eaten for flavour and medicinal purposes. Used in Chinese, Korean, Tibetan and Japanese traditonal medicine. The fleshy berries are ellipsoid or ovoid in shape and are 1-2 cm long. Used in tonics, tisanes, wines and beer. Also paired with meats or eaten dried as a snack. Deep green foliage, with purple flowers blooming in July to August. It grows to 8 ft tall and 13 ft wide, working well as a hedge. It has an extensive root system and can be planted to stabilize sandy banks. Native to Asia and Europe.
