Chilean Hardy Fuchsia is grown for its beautiful flowers, which attract hummingbirds. It is a deciduous shrub, with dark green foliage. Flowers have crimson tube and sepals, with violet-purple petals blooming in June to September. Fuchsia magellanica 'Riccartonii' grows to 10 ft tall and 6 ft wide, making a good hedge or container plant. The dark purple fruits are edible. Native to Chile and Argentina.
